The Parish of St Clement and St James : Funeral Service Options

Many funerals are simple services, lasting about 30 minutes.
They may take place at a church, cemetery, or crematorium.
The priest will flag up further issues to think about. For instance, you may
- involve family and friends in the service, by singing, reading, or giving tributes or eulogies
- choose Bible readings, or other readings
- choose hymns and other music items
- include your own prayers
If you wish, the clergy will lead prayers at your home, or at a mortuary or chapel of rest; and the coffin may be brought into church on the evening before the funeral.
At a later date, you may wish to have a memorial service. We would be happy to discuss this with you.
